Welwyn Hatfield Baha'i community is one of over hundred Baha'i communities in the UK. Although there have been Baha'is in Welwyn Hatfield for many years, the first Local Assembly (which means that there has to be at least 9 adult Baha'is) was first formed in 1978.

This community has always worked with local organisations who share our vision of a unified and harmonious world. We have been members of the United Nations Association and participate in their activities. As part of One World Week we have organised with other religious groups such diverse activities as Interfaith meetings, talks on various subjects such as genetic modification and spiritual solution to world economic problems.

We hold various public meetings on issues which we believe are important in today's society such as moral education, conflict resolution, law and order and the role of spirituality in our lives.

The community is very much involved as an NGO in the various summits to do with the environment, habitat and so on. One of our members represented the Baha'i Faith at these summits which gave the local community a first hand experience of these historic events.

The Baha'is of Welwyn Hatfield participated in the Centenary Celebration of the establishment of Faith in the UK. This community is growing and as it grows will hopefully play a more significant role in helping in the Welwyn community and form even stronger bonds with other organisations.
